چکیده
Dermatoglyphics is a study of the unique pattern in skin fingers, palms, soles, and toes. These dermatoglyphics has played an important role various fields like forensic medicine, genetics, anthropology. Sir Francis Galton stated that individual’s dermal remained constant throughout their lifetime. Many studies have suggested possible relation between occlusion. Studies could be used as tool to identify underlying skeletal malocclusion. As oral structures develop together, genetic information assess different types malocclusions. The dentofacial characteristics with which patient reports to dentist often become an aesthetic and functional handicap for patient [1]. During Angle’s era Class II cases are those with mandibular distoocclusion [2]. According...
متن کاملSkeletal Anchorage in Orthodontic Treatment of a Class Ii Malocclusion
Aim of the study The aim of this paper is to present a clinical case of an Angle class II malocclusion which was treated with premolar extractions and skeletal anchorage in order to establish the facial and dental balance. Material and methods After the clinical and paraclinical evaluations, it was assigned a diagnostic of a class II, division 2 malocclusion according to Angle classification. T...
متن کاملAssessing the Correlation between Cephalometric Measurements In Patients with Class II Malocclusion
Background and purpose: Some measurements such as angles and planes drawn in lateral cephalometry have different relationships and correlation coefficients which help to distinguish different types of malocclusions. The aim of this study was to investigate the correlation between ANB, Wits, occlusal plane, and Y-axis cephalometric measurements in patients with class II malocclusion. Materials...
متن کاملSkeletal versus conventional intraoral anchorage for the treatment of class II malocclusion: dentoalveolar and skeletal effects
BACKGROUND The purpose of this retrospective study is to investigate the dentoalveolar and skeletal effects of two distalizing protocols featuring different anchorage systems used in patients with class II malocclusion: the MGBM system (skeletal anchorage) and Pendulum (intraoral anchorage). METHODS The sample comprised 57 patients who were assigned to one of the two treatments: the MGBM grou...
